Inverness pump specialist opts for Approved Used Mercedes-Benz Vans from Kent dealer

Husband and wife team Shawn and Mary-Anne Hogg previously opted for a small Citan 109 CDI Extra-long and a mid-sized Vito 113 CDI Compact from Sparshatts of Kent last summer, flying down and driving the vans the 600 miles back home.

Now the business owners have returned to Kent to buy another Vito 113 CDI, in this case an Extra-long model, and again using a funding agreement with Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.

The firm runs a total of five vans – including two Vito models – which are allocated to engineers and used to carry tools, equipment and materials to the premises of domestic and commercial clients throughout the north of Scotland.

Shawn Hogg, who previously worked for an Aberdeen-based heat pump company, explained the reasons for his vehicle choice: “I’d been driving a Mercedes-Benz van for six years and it had clocked-up a very high mileage by the time I left, yet not once had that vehicle let me down,” he recalled.

“We cover a very large and remote area so reliability and economy are the most important attributes I look for in a van. My previous experience, coupled with the long service intervals and the brand’s quality image, meant that when I launched airsource1 Mercedes-Benz was the only make of van I was prepared to consider.

“The fact that we were just starting out, and are still a relatively new business, meant we couldn’t afford brand new vehicles, but the Mercedes-Benz Approved Used scheme has given us the confidence to invest in used vans.”
