Isuzu D-Max Utility pickups join British Airways ground fleet

British Airways is deploying Isuzu D-Max Utility pickups to assist airside operations at Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

The D-Max vehicles will assist airside operations at Heathrow and Gatwick

The aviation giant has struck a deal with dealer Weybridge Isuzu and initially takes delivery of nine new-look D-Max Utility pickups in double cab versions. Three vehicles will go to Heathrow Airport, with the other six destined for Gatwick Airport.

The D-Max vehicles will join the ground fleet, providing a towing capacity of 3,500kg and the ability to carry a payload of over 1,000kg, alongside a reputable track record of reliability.

The vehicles, finished in Splash White colour, have been branded with the British Airways logo and upgraded with accessories, including an under-rail liner and MountainTop roll cover on the load bed, as well as a revolving amber hazard warning light on the roof.

James Biggs, managing director at Weybridge Isuzu, said: “It is incredibly exciting to have been chosen by British Airways as their preferred supplier of these critical vehicles. We always aim at delivering first-class service and we look forward to ensuring the Isuzu D-Max meets and exceeds their expectations.”

Graham Joll, regional sales manager at Isuzu UK, added: “This collaboration is a testament to the outstanding quality and reliability of the Isuzu D-Max. The fantastic work from Weybridge Isuzu shows how we can offer outstanding quality and value in our fleet vehicles.”
