Iveco eDaily makes UK debut at 2023 CV Show

Iveco has revealed its eDaily electric LCV for the first time in the UK, debuting at the 2023 Commercial Vehicle Show.

The eDaily combines a 3.5-tonne towing capacity with a truck-based chassis that carries 4.6 tonnes of payload, cargo volume of up to 19.6 cubic metres and a turning circle said to be the smallest among peers

Pitched as the ‘same Daily, just electric’, the eLCV teams up a 3.5-tonne towing capacity with a truck-based chassis that carries 4.6 tonnes of payload, cargo volume of up to 19.6 cubic metres and a turning circle said to be the smallest among peers.

It uses a modular battery concept with customers able to specify their vehicle with one, two or three 37kWh units, balancing range with payload and journey patterns. Batteries can be added or removed in as little as two hours at Iveco dealers – enabling the vehicle to be updated for revised duties or future owners.

Range is up to 248 miles in urban real-world conditions and the eDaily allows for rapid charging of up to 80kW, enabling 62 miles of range to be added in some 30 minutes.

Mike Cutts, UK light business line director, said: “The class-leading capabilities of the Iveco eDaily will enable more operators to go electric, even when undertaking the most challenging of missions. It retains the rugged DNA of the Daily but delivers on decarbonisation.”

The eDaily also offers three ePTO options to suit differing applications. The 15kW high-voltage solution enables the vehicle to provide supplementary power to run specialised vehicle bodies such as refrigeration units, waste compactors, and even life-saving emergency equipment.

A low-voltage 2.5kW ePTO and a mechanical 15kW ePTO are also available that can power pumps for cranes, aerial platforms, or other heavy-duty lifting equipment – these can run when the vehicle is switched off too.

Fleet and retail customers can also benefit from an array of connected technology services. All models come with the four-year eStart package, including Iveco On Access vehicle activity reports, Uptime Monitoring & Management, eRange Assurance and eRemote Control.

Additional subscription services include ePro, aimed at fleets of up to five vehicles and featuring the eDaily Routing vehicle range estimation facility, and eCharge Management, which enables access to public and compatible private chargers via a single card and with the ability to monitor costs and manage invoicing.

For fleets of more than five vehicles, eFleet builds on this further with a Professional Safe Report highlighting any safety system activation and an eReport that breaks down detailed energy usage and analyses of driving patterns to boost efficiency.

Mike Cutts continued: “The Iveco eDaily’s high degree of connectivity means that operators will be better informed about vehicle performance than ever. Better planning leads to better efficiencies, and so having intelligent eDaily tools at your disposal will make a big impact for customers.”
