Jameel Motors powers up Farizon SV van launch with new hires

Jameel Motors UK, the distributor for the newly launched Farizon SV van, has expanded its leadership team with two key appointments.

Calum James has joined as head of sales

Calum James has joined as head of sales alongside Sujai Sugathan as head of aftersales, harnessing strong fleet interest in the new electric van, which made its official launch at the CV Show earlier this month.

James joins Jameel Motors following a 11-year stint at Mercedes-Benz in the UK that culminated in his most recent appointment as head of corporate sales at Mercedes-Benz Vans in July 2023.

Sujai Sugathan joins Jameel Motors UK as head of aftersales

Sugathan brings over 20 years of automotive aftersales experience, both in the UK and India and including roles at Škoda India. His most recent UK-based position was aftersales manager for LEVC specialist, Sherbet Electric Taxis.

The new appointments follow the recruitment of Kate McLaren as head of marketing and sales operations in January, and Jeremy Wood as head of finance in February. Wood has also been appointed as acting managing director for Jameel Motors (Farizon Auto UK), pending the appointment of a permanent successor to Tom Carney.

Commenting on the latest appointments, Wood said: “With first customer deliveries [of the Farizon SV] due later in Q2 and very strong interest from the fleet sector, the team is delighted to welcome Calum and Sujai. Their experience will be invaluable as we execute our ambitious plan for the Farizon SV to win a major market share in the growing UK electric van market.”

The Farizon SV is available in five different sizes and with three battery options

Established in 2016, Farizon is the commercial vehicle division of Geely, China’s largest private vehicle manufacturer. Priced from £45,000 (excl. VAT), the Farizon SV is available in five different sizes and with three battery options, offering a combined WLTP range of 177 to 247 miles and featuring a host of innovations.
