JJX Logistics takes delivery of new Mercedes Vitos

JJX Logistics operates from headquarters in Wolverhampton and is a member of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance. Its 3.2-tonne new Vito Extra-long arrived via the Kidderminster branch of Rygor.

JJX Small Haul was founded in 1997 by John Donovan, who changed its name in 2007 to JJX Logistics, to better reflect the diverse nature of its business – the family-owned company also serves customers from the automotive, rail, marine, brewing, technology, and print and packing industries.

Having started out with a single van by another manufacturer, Donovan bought his first Mercedes-Benz shortly afterwards. Since then, every new JJX vehicle has been a Mercedes-Benz.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about reliability, durability, comfort, safety or just all-round quality, Mercedes-Benz vans are streets ahead of the competition,” he said.

Today, the JJX Logistics fleet comprises 24 vans – most are Sprinters although the line-up also includes half a dozen Vito models and a single, small Citan – and four trucks, a 7.5-tonner and three Actros tractor units.

“To be honest I’m a bit of a ‘geek’ when it comes to vans,” laughed Donovan. “I bought one of the first Euro 6 models, a temperature-controlled Sprinter, a year ago, and now I’m one of the first customers for the New Vito.”

The latest addition to the JJX Logistics fleet comes with metallic blue paintwork with colour-coded bumpers, five-spoke alloy wheels and roof rails. It also features an optional Driving Assistance package that includes the Collision Prevention Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist systems, as well as host of other extra features such as Tempmatic Air Conditioning, an LED Intelligent Light System, a Comfort driver’s seat and Chrome interior trim.

Commenting on the new Vito, Donovan added: “The restyled front end looks really smart and it’s even more car-like and comfortable to drive than the previous model, while in terms of usable cargo space the Extra-long version is brilliant. I’m now looking forward to reaping some valuable fuel bill savings as a result of the new Vito’s improved economy.”
