Kingstown Works has expanded its zero-emission fleet with 13 Peugeot e-Expert electric vans, supporting its work with Hull City Council (HCC)
The business is the principal provider of housing maintenance, street lighting and vehicle fleet services to HCC and will operate the vans with the council. Between them, the two fleets already run close to 200 Peugeot vehicles; this already includes 60 EVs, on top of the new e-Expert vans, as part of plans to electrify the full fleet in the future.
The e-Expert vans were chosen for their electric range of up to 211 miles from a single charge, maximum payload of 1,226kg (model dependent) and load volume of 6.1m3 – vital to help the work with building maintenance and repair services.
Gary Middleton, HCC fleet manager, said: “Peugeot products have proven a first line choice for many years for both KWL and HCC. Given Peugeot’s previous work in providing a wide range of vehicles for both Kingston Works Limited and HCC, the Peugeot e-Expert was a natural successor to progress the continuous electrification of our fleet.
“The impressive specification of the new Peugeot e-Expert was more than enough to make this our next vehicle of choice. One could say, the Peugeot e-Expert is a van for all seasons!”
David Peel, managing director of Peugeot UK, also commented: “We have been working with the team from Kingston upon Hull very closely for years and are thrilled to see that our latest, full electric van will be able to help KWL and HCC continue to provide essential services.”
