The “LCV Awareness Campaign” will focus on encouraging more fleets to utilise Kwik Fit’s vehicle-related services, including tyre and brake replacement.
The company is particularly targeting fleets and small businesses operating LCVs to use Kwik Fit centres – as well as the company’s 200-strong mobile fleet – following recent changes including:
- The introduction of the capability to offer MoTs on Class 7 vans – those over 3000 kg up to and including 3500 kg DGW (design gross weight) – at every refurbished centre where space allows as well as MoTs on Class 4 vehicles, which includes LCVs up to 3000 kg DGW.
- Equipment additions to the network including six-tonne trolley jacks, five-tonne axle stands, wheel clocks, extensions bars and tyre cages to ensure Kwik Fit can undertake mechanical work on the very largest LCVs.
- The introduction of an expanded range of tyres in centres that cover the vast majority of LCVs with premium, mid and budget priced choices across a wide number of sizes.
The developments mean that the vast majority of Kwik Fit’s centre network can accommodate all LCVs, including the growing number of hi-roof, long wheel base models, with staff also undergoing additional LCV training.
Kwik Fit fleet director, Peter Lambert, said: ‘Our new campaign is designed to encourage more fleets, small businesses and sole traders to use our centres, as well as Kwik Fit Mobile, for all their LCV requirements.
‘From repairing a puncture to replacing tyres and brake parts and undertaking MoTs and full vehicle servicing in accordance with manufacturer standards, Kwik Fit is able to offer all LCV requirements at competitive prices.’
He continued: ‘Kwik Fit is already the largest provider of fast-fit and related services to the UK company car market and we anticipate that the investment that we have made and will continue to make in centres, staff and equipment to cater for the LCV market will further increase our share of the corporate sector.’
The move comes as the company launches its the first of its Plus centres in South East England, offering a broader range of services and equipment in a move to rival franchised dealers and increase the company’s work with car and van fleets.
Meanwhile Kwik Fit, which was acquired by Japanese firm Itochu Corporation two years ago, is already investing in extensive modernisation of its network. Kwik Fit Premier sites, which are being rolled out at a rate of around 100-150 per year, will be nationwide in around four years, offering a similar franchised dealer-esque environment for traditional MoT, fast fit and servicing operations.
