Kwik Fit to push for LCV business following CV show success

The firm says it has made a major investment in its LCV tyre fitting proposition in the last two years and in expanding its range of mechanical services to fleets and is committed to continued investment.

At the CV Show Kwik Fit showcased the ability of many of its newly refurbished centres, including those now branded “Kwik Fit Plus” to be able to undertake mechanical work on light commercial vehicles up to five tonnes.

Additionally, Kwik Fit featured on its Show stand one of its new-look mobile tyre fitting vans to highlight the benefits to busy van fleets of its “we’ll come to you service” that keeps vehicle downtime to a minimum.

To cater for the requirements of light commercial vehicle operators, Kwik Fit continues to invest significantly. As a result, the company is:

  • Expanding its range of premium, mid and budget priced light commercial vehicle tyres in centres
  • Introducing new specialist light commercial vehicle equipment in its more than 600 UK centres – said to be the largest network of any fast-fit provider
  • Ensuring that the vast majority of the centre network can accommodate light commercial vehicles, including the growing number of hi-roof, long wheel base models as well as car derived vehicles, while making details of those centres and their specific facilities available to customers
  • Introducing the capability to undertake MoTs on Class 7 vans at an increasing number of centres
  • Delivering additional light commercial vehicle training to staff.

Additionally, “Kwik Fit Plus” centre staff includes a Master Technicians trained to the highest level recognised by the Automotive Technician Accreditation.

Pete Marden, Kwik Fit’s UK fleet business development manager for SMR and MoT, said: ‘Kwik Fit is providing businesses operating light commercial vehicle fleets an alternative option to using either franchise dealers or garages that specialise in HGVs for their service, maintenance and repair work.

‘Whether an organisation is operating a car derived van or the very largest long wheel base, hi-roof panel van, Kwik Fit centres and our mobile tyre fitting service is able to meet their requirements.’
