Latest fuel cuts to help local enterprises

Tesco and Morrisons announced yesterday (27th July) that they would cut the price of diesel by up to 2ppl across their networks, with Sainsbury's set to make the same reduction across its 300 forecourts as of today (28th July).
The latest cuts come just eight days after Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Asda announced 2ppl cuts while Asda also announced that it was capping the cost of diesel at 112.7ppl.

Commenting on the news, Nick Breton, head of Direct Line for Business, said: “Many small companies will be delighted to hear the price of diesel is falling, as they rely on vans powered by diesel to run their business. Fuel is a major cost for a large number of small businesses and further reductions announced by these major retailers means more local enterprises can get on the road and get on with growing their businesses.

"Diesel prices are now 14% lower than they were the same time last year, and combined with these further cuts could lead to fuel savings of almost £200 per year or the average van driver.”
