LCV project helps Lex Autolease scoop Sector Supplier of the Year award

Compass Group is a leading food service and support services organisation and has worked with Lex Autolease since 2004. Lex Autolease became its sole supplier in 2008 and currently manage its fleet of 1,600 company cars and light commercial vehicles.

Lex Autolease beat three other suppliers for the top spot in the annual awards and also featured in the final shortlist for the Corporate Responsibility award.

A key factor in the team’s win was a strategic project run by Lex Autolease in partnership with ESS, a division of Compass Group that looks after defence, government and offshore contracts. The project focused on LCV choice and bespoke mobilisation processes to improve lead times, the flexible provision of vehicles and to reduce costs.

As a result, the Lex Autolease team developed bespoke daily rental and fuel card processes to ensure optimum productivity when delivering vehicles and personalised vehicle selection to reduce vehicle lead times and costs.

Robert Hunter, strategic sourcing manager at Compass Group UK, said: “We have been consistently impressed with Lex Autolease’s ability to tailor solutions to meet not only our needs, but the needs of our customers. We look forward to continuing to build relationships with new clients with the team’s support.”
