LEVC has appointed van racking specialist Modul-System as the first official converter for its VN5 range-extender plug-in hybrid, which is now on sale.
Modul-System will support LEVC across multiple key European markets, providing a range of bespoke, custom racking solutions. It’s already sorted conversions for LEVC’s VN5 prototype ‘trial fleet’ of converted TX taxis that are being used by range of major fleets, from BT Group to Kier Group, Royal Mail and DPD. In total, more than 25 business partners in total are taking part in the trials.
The partnership comes as LEVC starts official VN5 production at its manufacturing facility in Ansty, Coventry. The VN5 is based on the same architecture and eCity range-extender technology as LEVC’s TX taxi and can achieve a pure EV range of over 60 miles (98km) and a total range of 304 miles (489km).
Paul Railston, managing director at Modul-System UK, commented: “As a premium partner to many major vehicle manufacturers, Modul-System are delighted to have been given the opportunity to partner with LEVC in the development our conversion solution for the VN5. This was a great opportunity for Modul-System and a journey we really enjoyed being part of. VN5 is a van that can really go to work and deliver in the workplace to meet the operational and vehicle application needs of a wide range of businesses and trades.”
The launch of the new van is also being supported by LEVC’s growing international dealer network, which will have more than 50 locations in the UK by the end of this year – the brand says that customers will never be further than a 45-minute drive time to an authorised LEVC service point.
Across Continental Europe, more than 30 sales and service partners will be in place by the end of this year.
