A new four-part video series is now available from Lex Autolease to support commercial vehicle fleets transitioning to EVs.
Fronted by presenter Nicki Shields, the LEXperts video series quizzes Lex Autolease’s team of commercial fleet experts on the key considerations for fleet managers when making the transition to electric.
Topics under focus include the importance of having a plan and the benefits of starting the process sooner rather than late, along with a look at how and why businesses should stagger transitioning a fleet.
The videos also explore the types of eLCVs currently available, how they differ from electric cars and why operators should ensure a vehicle is suitable for its intended role, plus other operational considerations such as charging infrastructure and driver education.
Other topics include the cost benefits of going electric, from the grants currently available to the overall whole-life cost benefits – and the series also features insights from a number of businesses that have already made the switch.
While new vans powered solely by an internal combustion engine (ICE) will no longer be available from 2035, research by Lex has found that just 23% of commercial fleet decision-makers have started to implement plans to electrify their vehicles.
Chris Chandler, principal consultant at Lex Autolease, commented: “2035 now marks a line in the sand after which new vehicles powered solely by an internal combustion engine will no longer be available for fleets. And while moving towards an electric fleet may seem like a straightforward decision, there’s so much to consider, from which vehicles can be swapped now and which may have to wait, to where they can be charged and what it means for your bottom line.
“The purpose of the LEXperts videos is to look at process in depth, to help anyone considering going electric fully understand what’s involved.”
