Lex wins sole supply deal with Queens Cross Housing

The sole-supplier tender, which was published by the Official Journal of the European Community, required the vehicle acquisition, customisation and maintenance of the Glasgow based not-for-profit organisation’s fleet, which includes a number of Ford Transit light commercial vehicles.

The vehicles, which have been fitted with new liveries to reflect QCHA’s recent rebranding, are being used by the housing association to replace its ageing maintenance and repair fleet, to improve fuel efficiency and dramatically reduce vehicle downtime.

QCHA is a community-based housing association that provides nearly 4,500 homes in the Maryhill Corridor area of the city. The organisation also provides 500 sheltered homes for the elderly, as well as supported projects for young people who have experienced homelessness and people with mental health related issues.

Tom Hughes, facilities, health and safety manager at Queens Cross Housing Association, commented: ‘The vehicles look great and with over 4,500 homes to manage across Glasgow, they are definitely needed!

‘The fixed-cost motoring solution agreed with Lex Autolease will not only reduce the financial burden of running a fleet, but will also ensure that we are using our vehicles effectively. It gives us peace of mind in knowing that all maintenance requirements are being proactively managed by a safe pair of hands.’

Mark Robbins, business development manager at Lex Autolease’s public sector team, added: ‘Maintaining a cost-effective vehicle fleet is absolutely essential for any business.

‘We look forward to working closely with Tom Hughes and his team in keeping the QCHA team on the road and supporting all of their tenants.’
