Lightfoot launches Elite Driver Week to spur road safety awareness

Lightfoot is backing Brake’s Road Safety Week by launching its own week-long event that encourages drivers to be even safer and more efficient on the road.

Elite Driver Week event will encourage more drivers to achieve ‘Elite Driver’ status

Called Elite Driver Week, it will use a combination of Lightfoot’s in-cab coaching and its driver rewards platform to incentivise more drivers to hit Elite Driver status over the seven days of the Brake-run event, which runs 17-23 November.

During Lightfoot’s Elite Driver Week, every driver who reaches Elite status – scoring 85% or higher for smooth, efficient and safe driving – will be entered for the daily £100 prize draw.

Lightfoot is also matching the prizes given away during Road Safety Week in donations to Brake to enable it to continue its work in promoting safer roads and drivers.

Paul Hollick, managing director at Lightfoot, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Brake’s Road Safety Week with our own seven-day promotion of their efforts in a bid to raise more awareness. The charity does invaluable work in helping to make our roads safer for all; something we also believe strongly in at Lightfoot.

“Our Elite Driver Week event will encourage more drivers to achieve ‘Elite Driver’ status – just as thousands of other drivers do every week through our in-cab coaching system. This way, drivers can not only become safer and more cost-effective to their businesses, but they will also be in with a chance of earning cash rewards worth £100 a day for all seven days of Brake’s Road Safety Week.”

Analysis of businesses using the Lightfoot system in their vehicles reveals savings of up to 15% in terms of fuel efficiency and a fall of around 40% for incident rates. The combination of the in-cab coaching device and the associated driver rewards platform encourages drivers to take responsibility for their actions behind the wheel, helping to deliver safer fleets and more cost-effective operations.
