Locks 4 Vans upgrades hook lock to help prevent ‘peel-and-steal’ attacks

Locks 4 Vans has launched a new combined high hook lock and anti-peel kit for the Ford Custom, bringing a solution to the growing number of ‘peel-and-steal’ attacks.

Combining both the hook lock and anti-peel elements into a ‘one-piece kit’ can help fleet managers stay one step ahead of thieves

It’s been developed as an upgrade to the standalone high L4V hook lock, providing a combined solution to dramatically reduce the risk of door peeling, whereby gangs apply pressure to doors and use brute force to pull them down.

To counter this, the new kit features a robust anti-peel plate, fitted to the barn door and reinforcing the inside edge of the door, whilst the built-in hook lock provides added security.

The combination also keeps the barn door secure, should the central locking system become disabled.

Designed for easy install, it’s manufactured from stainless steel and available in a powder-coated black finish.

Not only can the solution help prevent fleets from suffering equipment loss from vehicles that have been broken into, but it can mitigate the expense and problems involved with replacing damaged doors, particularly under the current supply chain issues.

Jason Fletcher, technical manager at L4V, said: “Peel-and-steal attacks are a perpetual problem, and whilst our hook lock works hard to mitigate this issue, the development team here at L4V are always proactively looking at how we can improve our offering and stay one step ahead of thieves. This is a game-changing product – simple in its concept but highly effective.”
