UK business Magtec has secured GB Small Series Approval for its own-brand 7.5 tonne electric truck, which is now on sale.
Designed for daily operations in low emission zones, the MEV75 comes in a standard 80kWh battery version, which has a range of up to 100km (62 miles), a charge time of up to four hours and a lifecycle of up to 10 years.
It’s based on an Isuzu Glider chassis, giving a gross vehicle weight of 7,500kg, and features an upgradable plug and play architecture.
With fewer moving parts than a diesel truck, the MEV75 delivers lower maintenance costs, resulting in a low total cost of ownership, and increased uptime.
The approval represents the latest milestone for Magtec and means the MEV75 will be eligible for a government plug-in grant, offering fleet managers a discounted purchase price and reduced monthly finance option.
Louise Atkinson, homologation specialist and vehicle integration engineering manager at Magtec, said: “Securing GB Small Series Approval for our MEV75 is a significant milestone for Magtec. It is evidence of our commitment to UK manufacturing and our support for fleet managers as they move to zero-emission vehicles.
