Majestic Wine has added more Citroën vans to its delivery fleet.
The major wine retailer is a long-standing Citroën customer and has deployed extra Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay models on its fleet, which now includes 222 Citroën LCVs.
The latest additions to the fleet are mainly used by Majestic Wine’s network of retail stores for home and customer deliveries, while the Relays – featuring Majestic Commercial’s latest livery – are used to supply Majestic Wine’s product lines to its commercial clientele, including event organisers, restaurants, pubs and bars.
Majestic Wine has upgraded the Citroën vans on its fleet to Enterprise specification, which adds in equipment such as air conditioning, satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and rear parking sensors as standard.
Chris Whitby, fleet manager for Majestic Wine, said; “Our vans are on the go all the time, carrying a variety of loads ranging from a few cases of wine and beer to a whole party order, including glasses and chiller bins.
“The vehicles are working on every sort road you can think of, from congested urban routes to quiet rural roads. They must be reliable and easy to drive, while helping to keep our fuel bills as low as possible. Our Citroën fleet meets all these requirements, while the Enterprise specification helps us to control our fuel bills, keep our drivers comfortable and reduces accidental damage to the minimum, thanks to the standard satellite navigation, air conditioning and parking sensors.”
The vans are supplied through Citroën dealer Just Citroën of Preston, on a contract with Lex Vehicle Leasing.
Martin Gurney, fleet director of Groupe PSA UK, said: “We know the reliability of the Berlingo has proved to be a strong selling point for Citroën’s versatile van over many years, combined with its flexible load space and low fuel consumption. So it’s no surprise to us that it has won over the Majestic Wine fleet team, where it has proved its credentials alongside the Dispatch and Relay. Majestic Wine is a highly-valued customer and we look forward to introducing the New Berlingo to them in the very near future.”
