Designer Contracts has ordered five Crafter LWB panel vans and five Caddy panel vans as part of its fleet replacement programme.

The firm runs a network of 12 regional centres across both private and public sectors, and the vehicles will be used by members of the customer services team across the UK.

Load size was a key factor in securing the new contract, with the LWB Crafters 4.7m3 load space offering Designer Contracts the ability to carry long lengths of flooring while still offering a comfortable driving experience. Reliability was also critical.

The new vehicles have been supplied through Volkswagens Fleet Service Group directly from the JCT Van Centre in Sheffield and will be supported by VWs Van Centre network, enabling each region to maintain their vehicles locally and reduce costly downtime.

Graham Kempton, logistics director at Designer Contracts, commented: To us, having the right vehicles that can carry the large lengths of flooring safely and reliably is crucial. Our regional teams have very demanding delivery schedules and any delay can have a serious knock-on effect on our business.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles not only offers the vehicles that meet our needs but also provides comprehensive aftersales support that helps us to ensure that our vehicles remain on the road and any vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum.
