MAN to show three different TGE models at IAA

Based on the new Crafter from parent firm VW, the new TGE will have a gross weight rating between 3 and 5.5 tonnes and will bring two wheelbases, three roof heights and three vehicle lengths on offer, with chassis configurations including closed van models, vans with windows as well as open single and crew cab variants.

At the IAA, MAN will highlight the versatility of the MAN TGE by introducing three different body types. This includes a three-way tipper from the company Scattolini, which has a loading bed and sub-structure made entirely of high strength steel. The loading bed can either be tipped backwards or to the side by manually adjusting the pivot.

Also on display will be a closed delivery van with a short wheelbase and medium high roof, using the FlexRack and ProSafe load securing systems and featuring a cargo compartment of approximately 11.3 cubic metres.

In addition, a service vehicle built jointly with Bott and based on a six-metre long utility wagon with windows will be present. This uses a walk-in interior to access a mini workshop and includes an epoxy resin-coated, anti-slip floor panel made of 9-ply plywood along with additional drawer units, under-floor folding compartments, racks and work surfaces, it provides a usable area of roughly 3.4 square metres.

In addition to the body solutions on display, MAN will also be showcasing its 'Vans to Go' concept which provides industry-specific vehicles 'ex works', with a 48-hour lead time from receipt of the order to delivery of the product. The 'Vans to Go' vehicles will be marketed almost Europe-wide via a dedicated internet platform. MAN will also offer servicing of the relevant body structures and financing facilities for complete vehicles.
