The move follows the relaunch of the Lanarkshire site and aims to demonstrate Manheim's long-term commitment to the Scottish CV market.
With a launch date of the 29th October, Manheim Shotts will be holding a fortnightly CV auction for vans and trucks as well as a monthly plant and equipment sale. All existing CV business at Manheim Glasgow will be relocated to Shotts at this time.
Manheim has also confirmed that it will be simultaneously launching a fortnightly “drive through” truck auction, which is understood to be the first sale of its type in the territory. All sales will be broadcast live to buyers via Manheim's award winning Simulcast technology.
Manheim announced its acquisition of Shotts Motor Auctions in March. In addition to rebranding the facility and incorporating the Shotts team into the Manheim family, the business has since further strengthened the management teams at the Shotts and Glasgow auction centres.
Commenting on the new developments at Manheim Scotland, Ian Irvine, regional director, said: ‘This announcement follows a thorough review of our CV business in Scotland. My team and I are totally committed to our renewed CV focus. It will be underpinned by our people, our product offering and our service levels. We will undoubtedly provide vendors and buyers alike with an industry-leading remarketing facility.’
Head of Manheim's UK commercial vehicle business, James Davis, added: ‘We believe the decision to hold fortnightly CV sales at Shotts will provide a new and exciting platform for CV remarketing in Scotland. In the short term we are going to take CV remarketing to a whole new level. In the longer term, as a direct consequence of our hard work, passion and sustained growth, our plan is to assume a sustained market leading position.’
