Manheim launches four online sales channels at CV Show

In addition to unveiling its brand-new mobile 'pop up' auction unit, the commercial vehicle remarketing specialist is conducting three exclusively online auction events during the show. These auctions will be run through Simulcast, the company's online platform, and will permit Manheim's buyers to log on and bid in a silent auction environment.

Run simultaneously, they will ring-fence vans and trucks situated across Manheim's UK auction network and, for the first time ever, will feature an exclusive auction for Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicles.

The three online bidding events will run 24 hours over a seven day period, and every sold vehicle will be delivered directly to the buyer for a fixed fee, regardless of location in the UK.

James Davis, head of commercial vehicles at Manheim, said: "I want to be clear, this is not simply about listing any 'not sold' vehicle or detracting from physical events; these channels genuinely provide additional flexibility for vendors with duplicate product and specialist assets. The key is that we are working with vendors, using our expertise, to position the channels responsibly."

Davis continued: "Uniquely, with Manheim's global auction footprint, an export buyer's availability often falls outside a UK physical auction window. By holding this round-the-clock event for a week, these buyers now have a total of 168 hours in which to battle for their lots. This compares to three or four hours for a typical UK physical auction. Against a backdrop of multiple time zones, we suddenly open up UK stock to a whole new worldwide buyer base.”

The three auction events close for bids at 9am on Monday 20 April. Buyers can access the vehicles via a dedicated Manheim Online landing page.
