Masternaut plug-and-play device to bring ‘simple’ telematics

Masternaut has launched a plug-and-play solution designed to offer low-cost, pay-as-you-go telematics.

The Masternaut Pulse device plugs straight into the cigarette lighter

The Pulse device is aimed at fleets new to telematics as well as those who already have devices on permanent vehicles but need to provide a missing link with temporary vehicles such as short-term hires and the grey fleet.

The device is powered purely by the cigarette lighter with no need for hardwiring, thereby eliminating installation time and costs, and is powered by the Masternaut Go platform to offer GPS tracking, mileage expense reports and reports on speeding, journeys and utilisation. It’s available at an introductory price of £4.99 per vehicle per month plus a £25 activation fee, without no commitment ties.

Luke Abrams, VP Product Development at Masternaut, said: “We knew there was a gap in the telematics technology available when it came to monitoring temporary vehicles, or grey fleet and company cars. Pulse allows them to have more visibility of their unseen fleet.
“Technology is constantly moving on and we’re proud to bring to the market the next evolution in telematics. A solution which is nimble and flexible, while meeting an important customer need.”
