SAIC offshoot Maxus has unveiled its new eDeliver 7 medium-sized eLCV at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show.
The new arrival will bridge the gap between the smaller eDeliver 3 and its eDeliver 9 big brother and will be available in three cargo van size configurations, with a payload of up to 1,200kg.
Its 202hp electric motor will give an acceleration time of 0-62mph in 11 seconds. Two battery options – 77 and 88kWh – will be on offer, depending on the model and will give a range of up to 226 miles.
Charging details are yet to be fully announced but the eDeliver7 will enable an 80% battery charge in 43 minutes in DC mode.
Three driving modes, Eco, Normal and Power, will feature plus a one-touch start. Safety features include blind spot detection, lane change assist, AEBS (autonomous emergency braking system), fatigue driving monitoring, plus front and rear parking sensors and 360-degree cameras. A 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system is also included as standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available.
Mark Barrett, director of Harris Maxus, said: “We have positioned ourselves as a market leader when it comes to electric vehicles and the eDeliver 7 builds on our EV range, securing our position in this regard.
“Our electric vans have proven popular with businesses in the delivery, pharma and grocery/retail sectors, as well as being the number one choice for many local councils that are looking to switch to electric. Our latest addition is pitched at those who need more payload capacity than the eDeliver 3, but who may not need the full-size capabilities of our eDeliver 9.”
It’s the brand’s sixth EV vehicle launch in just seven years and the latest Maxus to debut at the CV Show, following the launch of its first all-electric commercial vehicle, the EV80, at the 2016 event.
Maxus also displayed its full range of EVs at the CV Show, with 12 zero-emission vehicles on the stand, including the eDeliver 3 and eDeliver 9 cabin van and chassis variants and an eDeliver 9 minibus. Also on show were the Maxus Mifi 9 MPV and the T90EV on-road pickup truck, which launched at the CV Show in 2022.
Pricing for the eDeliver 7 will be announced in June 2023, orders available from August 2023.
