Maxus to launch all-important new LCVs in online virtual experience

Maxus (formerly LDV) is gearing up to launch its new LCVs in an online virtual experience that will enable fleets to get up close and personal with the new vehicles.

The online vehicle launch follows the rebrand of LDV to Maxus, along with the impending launch of a new Maxus website and the rebadging of Maxus-branded social media platforms

The vans were originally due to be introduced at the CV Show on 28 April at the NEC but following the cancellation of the show due to the outbreak, Maxus is turning to online platforms.

Taking place at a date to be confirmed towards the end of May / early June, the virtual launch will showcase both vehicles to fleets, including full details, spec and pricing.

The eDeliver 3 small van is the brand’s first fully electric LCV and offers an official WLTP range of 150 miles thanks to its 52.5kWh battery.

Meanwhile, the all-new Deliver 9 is underpinned by a complete new platform and drivetrain, including a 163hp 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine. It will be available in a choice of four lengths, three heights, van and chassis variants and a choice of front- or rear-wheel drive.

The online vehicle launch follows the rebrand of LDV to Maxus, along with the impending launch of a new Maxus website and the rebadging of Maxus-branded social media platforms.

Speaking about the virtual launch, Mark Barrett, general manager of Harris Automotive Distributors, which distributes Maxus in the UK, Ireland and right-hand drive Europe, said: “We were genuinely gutted when we heard that CV Show 2020 was cancelled, but it was the right and only decision to take. We will now be launching our new vehicles a little later than scheduled, but we are confident that our new platform LCVs are worth the wait.

“A public launch event is not an option right now with the health and safety of our customers, our dealerships, staff and industry colleagues our number one priority. But we are nothing if not innovative, so a virtual launch makes sense on this occasion.  The show must go on.”

“Things are changing rapidly for all businesses right now but we are fortunate in that we are ready to adapt. MAXUS is a dynamic brand and we see this as an opportunity to show people just how cutting-edge our brand and vans are from the comfort of their own homes or workplaces.”
