MC expands rental fleet with Isuzu rigids

MC Rental Ltd is the stand-alone rental company within the £110m turnover MC Group Ltd, and has a national fleet of 3000 vehicles backed by a rental staff of 55.

Following the supply of over 175 new Isuzu trucks in the last two years, over 10% of the MC Rental fleet is now made up by Isuzu rigids, with the Forward N75.190 model that features the Easyshift automatic transmission proving the most popular.

Dave Hutchins, group sales director at MC Rental Ltd, said: “We have invested considerably in expanding our fleet recently and the overall average fleet age is now well under two years. Early on we had identified that there was an important market for Isuzu trucks within our fleet. This has subsequently been proven by the fact that they are really popular with our customers, as a result of the combination of their impressive payload and compact footprint. As a fleet truck they also offer us impressive whole-life costs and proven reliability in operation, which is essential for our business.”

Body types featured within the MC Rental fleet include temperature controlled vehicles, curtainsiders, box bodies, drop sides, tippers, beaver tails and truck-mounted crane bodies. “Payload is probably the biggest plus point for Isuzu but overall we find that the whole package from Isuzu is pretty impressive. Additionally, and most important for a rental business, the vehicles are very driver friendly and supported by an effective national service network,” added Hutchins.
