McNicoll to become ‘go-to’ rental firm under funding and SMR deal with ARI

Fast-growing rental firm McNicoll has signed up ARI Fleet for funding and fleet management, supporting its plans to become the ‘go-to’ vehicle hire company nationwide.

McNicoll says working alongside ARI opens the door for it to become not just the top rental company in Scotland, but in the UK

Based in Livingston, McNicoll Vehicle Hire will fund new vehicles using ARI’s Conditional Sale finance product, allowing it to grow its commercial vehicle fleet; the firm is looking to grow its fleet size considerably over the coming years.

But the deal will also see ARI provide maintenance, fleet and accident management on more than 1,200 vehicles, allowing McNicoll to offer rental on a nationwide basis.

While McNicoll has a maintenance team at its Livingston headquarters, it was looking for a partner that could manage SMR on a national basis. ARI’s customer service team will provide 24/7, 365 day-a-year support, including all aspects of incident management, from roadside assistance to replacement vehicle supply, recovery and repair.

David Love, commercial director, McNicoll Vehicle Hire, outlined: “This is an exciting new chapter within McNicoll Vehicle Hire’s strategic plan and a partnership that will help us achieve and exceed our targets. We are fast becoming the ‘go-to’ company when customers want a platinum service, and we believe this partnership with ARI will further strengthen our position as the number one company for vehicle hire and help us improve our structure and grow in line with our expectations.”

Rory Mackinnon, sales director, ARI, added: “Despite the difficulties of the past 18 months, McNicoll has continued to grow, which illustrates how highly thought of it is by its customers in both the corporate and consumer rental sectors, and we look forward to working with them to enhance their offering.”
