McTear Contracts deploys fleet tracking to enhance customer service

The business has more than 200 employees spread across 16 customer sites and needed a tracking solution that would provide visibility of vehicles to gain greater levels of visibility, protect against misuse and ensure employees are driving responsibly.

A wall-mounted screen located at McTear’s head office in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, enables planners and managers to view precise vehicle locations and status, ensuring employees are arriving at customer sites on-time and helping identify appropriate resources for any reactive maintenance jobs.

Meanwhile, real-time alerts will highlight any unauthorised vehicle usage and incidents of speeding, with supporting monthly reports providing the company with added insight into areas of improvement.

Jamie Mowat, operations director at McTear Contracts, commented: “We are committed to delivering an excellent service keeping to strict timetables and within budget. The Ctrack solution offers us an effective way of tracking our mobile resources to ensure they are operating efficiently and responsibly, while meeting the precise needs of the local authorities and registered providers we work with. In particular, we are targeting a reduction in unnecessary journeys and an improvement in customer response times.”
