The vehicle tracking website, which represents more than 50 tracking and telematics companies across a wide range of technologies, surveyed 100 car, van and HGV fleet operators in the week commencing 1st April and found that almost two-thirds (62.1%) had not been affected in any way by the bank holiday. And although more than a quarter were negatively affected (25.9%), 12.1% say bank holidays have a positive effect.
Kjell Anderton, director of TrackCompare, said: ‘The days leading up to and following bank holidays are usually a quieter time for TrackCompare so we were interested to find out what our customers thought. The fact that the majority of our customers close for bank holidays came as no surprise but what was unexpected was that the vast majority of fleet customers felt that they had no negative impact on their business.’
