The rentals business joins sister company Motiva Vehicle Contracts – operates a fleet of around 5,000 cars and commercial vehicles – and parent company Motiva Group at its new site in Staffordshire. The move to combine the three operations from their former locations in Stoke-on-Trent is intended to provide a one-stop shop for fleet customers.
The move forms part of the company’s strategy designed to deliver growth of 100% in just three years.
Peter Wright, group sales and marketing director at Motiva (pictured), said: ‘We’re planning to double the size of our fleet to about 10,000 vehicles in just 36 months.
‘So this move, along with bringing in M-Way, from nearby Bucknall, is really about putting in place the infrastructure we need for that expansion.
‘These are exciting times for the company and our plans will have positive implications for the local economy too.
‘The Staffordshire and South Cheshire area will benefit from our expansion because we buy local whenever we can and because we will be creating jobs.
‘Some 75% of our vehicles are locally supplied, so we’re spending millions of pounds with suppliers from North Staffordshire.
‘Most of our senior managers are North Staffordshire born and bred, and we’re really pleased to be able to do our bit for local community groups, sports clubs and charities as well as the local economy.’
Wright added: ‘We’ve always felt that customer service is one of the key ways we can stand at the forefront of our industry, so while we have plans to expand the business, we will make sure we never lose the personal touch.
‘We are planning to make a lot of investment in technology that will help us to maintain the one-to-one approach we have at the moment.’
