Motor Auction Group (MAG) has appointed four new hires with a combined 60 years’ experience to run its new £5m purpose-built LCV auction site in Goole, Yorkshire.

The dedicated five-acre site just off junction 36 of the M62 is set to host its first LCV sale on 27 March at 10.30am, and the new team are already in place to welcome vendors and buyers to a weekly Thursday sale.
Geoff Flood has joined MAG as centre manager and will lead the team in growing the site into running two auctions per week by the summer and selling 12,000 used LCVs per annum. Flood arrives from Aston Barclay where he led the LCV team for over six years.
Gemma Stokes has been appointed as assistant centre manager while Jaqueline Swaine has joined the team as MAG’s vendor and buyer manager. Samantha Wray is also onboard, assuming the role of vendor manager and looking after the growing number of fleet and dealer vendors that have already signed up to sell LCVs at Goole.
The four-strong LCV team’s 60-plus years of combined experience in the auction industry grows to 100 years including group operations director Justin Lane, whose team is getting the new Goole site ready for business.
“All our teams are working closely to seamlessly transfer our weekly LCV sale over from our Bawtry site to Goole for the end of March. We continue to put the finishing touches to the new site’s refurbishment centre, auction rostrum, signage and security,” explained Lane.
“A few vehicles have already arrived on site for the first sale, and we expect to be fully operational by the end of April,” he added.
MAG has launched the new site to help increase its auction footprint after its weekly LCV sale outgrew its existing Bawtry site, while also freeing up space at its 10-acre Rotherham HQ, extending its current dealer, fleet and finance sales programme.
Once MAG’s Bawtry site is clear of LCVs, it will return to hosting specialist auctions for its customers while also accommodating any additional vehicle storage needs.
