The Motus Group (UK) has united its S&B Commercials and Orwell Truck & Van operations under a single Motus Truck & Van banner.
The move comes after the group acquired the two family-owned Mercedes-Benz dealers in 2013/14. Since then, it’s gradually enhanced levels of customer support, keeping existing best practices and supplementing them with updated systems and methods, backed by the introduction of a dedicated Customer Contact Centre in late 2019.
Lee Seward, managing director of the renamed Motus Truck & Van division, explained: “We wanted customers at any branch to have a simple, single access point to aftersales care. It isn’t something you can rush, and we have spent a lot of time and effort in building both the system and the team to do it.”
Seward added: “With our standards well on the way to where we want them to be. We can now push ahead under our parent company banner and develop an even stronger position for ourselves across East Anglia, Hertfordshire, Essex and North London.”
The renamed division, covering 10 dealer sites, operates as part of Motus Group (UK), which also owns DAF dealer group, Motus Commercials. The group also has a specialist body-building and tail-lift division, Motus Vehicle Solutions, as well as a major car and van retail and service division, Pentagon Motor Group.
Seward continued: “This is all about the energy of the teams at S&B/Orwell and their passion to deliver ever-higher standards of customer care.
“Our customer satisfaction ratings have topped the national ‘Mystery Shopper’ programme run by Mercedes-Benz into its UK dealer network, and the whole team takes the credit for that. We set out to deliver excellence in our dealings with customers, and that we now take our place alongside other Motus-branded companies is a tribute to the hard work of everyone involved.”
Motus Truck & Van will also shortly open a major new service centre at Witham in Essex, including nine truck bays, eight van bays, ATF & MOT facilities and 7,000 square feet parts department.
Based on the A12 between Colchester and the M25, the site will offer a vital service opportunity to busy customers in, around and passing through the area. The facility will also have a used vehicle sales office and display area.
