Already in use with prominent UK white goods retailer Marks Electrical, the AxChk4 static vehicle weight monitoring system is designed to address the growing need for accurate and efficient weight management in the logistics and delivery industries.

It combines four European-made weigh pads, levellers, two ramps, a Micro 6000 indicator, WeiMon software for data capture, and three large display screens that show the weight of both axles, as well as the gross vehicle weight.

A key component is the calculation app built by MWS, which not only provides real-time feedback on both axles as well as the gross vehicle weight, but also eliminates the need for manual calculations.

The app displays clear, colour-coded indicators that show whether the axles or vehicle are underweight, close to the maximum weight, or overweight via a traffic light style system, providing instant feedback.

Future plans will see MWS further enhance the app’s functionality, including a new feature that will inform operators of the remaining weight capacity, allowing for greater operational precision.

Already streamlining vehicle weighing for clients such as Marks Electrical, the AxChk4 launches to provide a significant advancement in ensuring compliance with vehicle weight regulations, while also streamlining operations.

Andrew Clarke, managing director of MWS, said: “The AxChk4 exemplifies our commitment to innovation using existing products and our ability to create new solutions where none previously existed. We listened to the specific needs of our customers and developed a system that not only meets those needs but also sets a new standard in real-time vehicle weight monitoring. This product is a testament to our dedication to ensuring that our clients can operate safely, efficiently and with complete confidence.”

Marks Electrical, which is using the AxChk4 for its fleet of delivery vans, said the new solution had been a transformative addition to operations.

Ben Martin, operations manager, elaborated: “The ability to quickly and easily monitor vehicle weight in real-time during the loading process has significantly reduced the risk of overloading, enhanced our compliance and optimised our delivery processes. Most importantly, it proactively ensures the safety of our drivers and other road users.”
