The integration works by allowing operators to utilise their vehicle tracking system to promote available capacity and match precise vehicle locations with tens of thousands of loads posted on the freight exchange.
In addition, by taking advantage of the live vehicle tracking data integration, trading partners will also be able to view the whereabouts and progress of their loads whilst in transit, thereby adding to the confidence and service levels between the contracting parties.
Navman Wireless, a global leader in GPS-based fleet optimsation products and services, including real-time vehicle tracking and analytics, says it expects to see a further reduction in empty running and wasted capacity as more transport companies take advantage of the integration with the Courier Exchange and its sister site Haulage Exchange.
‘This is about simplifying processes using technology and adding elements of visibility and control to help our customers pick up additional work,’ explained Scott Hutchins, VP sales UK & Ireland, Navman Wireless.
‘The vehicle tracking integration is enabling courier and haulage operators to work closer with their customers and partners, improve planning and increase profitability.’
Speaking on behalf of Courier Exchange, managing director, Lyall Cresswell, added: ‘We are very pleased to have formed a serious partnership with Navman Wireless which brings our mutual customers such an advantage in their day to day transport operations.
‘This type of integration brings significant value to forward-thinking transport operators and is already coming to form a big part of the decision-making process when our member businesses decide which telematics solution to purchase.’
