New AI-equipped driver safety monitor to advance fleet safety

Fleet safety electronics specialist Motormax has introduced new driver monitoring systems (DMS), equipped with latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning to improve fleet safety.

The monitor detects fatigue, smoking, distraction, mobile phone usage and seat belt misuse

Advances in AI tech mean that DMS solutions are at the forefront of solutions for combating distracted driving, alerting the driver in real-time so they can correct behaviour accordingly, encouraging safer driving habits. The technology can also be paired with a fleet management platform, identifying safety goals and areas needing improvement.

Motormax has developed a range of AI and machine learning solutions designed to improve fleet safety and efficiency, including its latest DSM.

The monitor can be installed onto the dashboard or A-pillar, and detects fatigue, smoking, distraction, mobile phone usage and seat belt misuse. It then gives timely alerts to drivers, while real-time event data is sent via email to fleet operators. The event footage can automatically be added to the ‘Evidence Centre’, enabling footage to easily be reviewed, while fleet operators can download event data to generate driver training programmes.

The DSM can be plugged straight into a DVR – with no extra box required – and it can also be linked with Motormax’s Safetymax solution for spoken voice audio.
