New appointments as BT Fleet enters funding sector

Goodwin joins BT Fleet from his former role as business development director, mega fleets at Lex Autolease and brings over 20 years fleet management and leasing experience including a long tenure at Arval.

BT Fleet said his addition supports its plans to extend its offering to customers by providing funding solutions in partnership with a leading funding provider, enabling it to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ approach to fleet provision.

His appointment comes as BT Fleet reports a rise in the number of vehicles it manages and maintains to 120,000, aided by the acquisition of new customers such as the Environment Agency, MJ Quinn and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

The firm has also made a number of other changes to its top team following April’s appointment of Henry Brace as managing director from his previous roles as chief operating officer and finance director.

Cheryl Feely-Jones becomes account management director looking after all existing customers while Paul Browne moves into the newly created bid and governance director role. Richard Guest has taken over from Henry Brace as finance director and Ian Martin expands his marketing responsibilities by becoming strategy, transformation and marketing director.

Feely-Jones, Browne, Guest and Martin have all been with BT Fleet for some years and these changes underpin BT Fleet’s ambitions to build on its reputation in the market as the UK’s leading fleet management provider in the operational fleet market. Goodwin’s addition also supports BT Fleet’s plans to extend its offering to customers by providing funding solutions.

Brace commented: “I am delighted with the achievements of our business in recent years and these changes complete the Leadership Team required to take on the growth opportunities available to us and ensure that we continue to deliver exceptional service for our strong portfolio of customers. Andrew Goodwin is an excellent addition to my team and joins a strong and extended leadership team that is set-up for our next phase of growth.”

Recent investments by BT Fleet have seen its garage network expand to 65 with three more planned in the coming months and a number already open 24/5. It has also strengthened its HGV capability and rolled out a significant system overhaul, providing customers with mobile apps and telematics and connected vehicle solutions through the EE network.

Brace concluded: “Earlier this year, BT Fleet moved into the Wholesale and Ventures division of BT and this entrepreneurial environment is allowing us to invest in our people, tools and infrastructure to ensure we are delivering for our customers today and developing innovative solutions that leverage BT’s mobile, physical and logistics capability and infrastructure for the fleet market. I look forward to working with my leadership team to take us to the next stage in our evolution.”
