New Euro 6-compliant engines available across Renault LCV range

The new Euro 6 engines are introduced ahead of the September 2016 deadline for adoption of the Euro 6 emissions standard, and bring a number of additional versions across the Renault Kangoo, Trafic and Master ranges, with many offering more power than their Euro 5 equivalents.

All Renault Kangoo Maxi models feature the ENERGY engines – offering fuel economy of up to 62.8mpg on the Combined cycle – which have been designed to bring optimised fuel consumption and reduced total cost of ownership with such features as Stop & Start technology. The standard length Kangoo (ML) will be solely available with ENERGY engines until the start of 2017, when more engines will be added to the range. All Kangoo Euro 6 engines feature a NOx trap to comply with the legislation.

Under the changes for Renault Trafic, the Euro 6 engines employ Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and Adblue, and are all more powerful than their Euro 5 predecessors by 5hp. Notably, the ENERGY dCi 95 engine has been introduced to the Trafic for the first time, while the single turbo dCi 120 is also offered together with the twin turbo ENERGY dCi 125 and ENERGY dCi 145 engines.

The Euro 6 line-up for the Renault Master has been enhanced with the addition of 40 more versions, including the introduction of new variants with the ENERGY engines, particularly the ENERGY dCi 110, and the increasingly popular Business+ trim level. There are also new versions of the Crew Van, including long-wheelbase versions, and the availability of rear-wheel drive, single rear wheel panel vans with single as well as twin turbo engines.

The Master Euro 6 units use a combination of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and Adblue, and comprise the single turbo dCi 110, ENERGY dCi 110 and dCi 130, together with the twin turbo ENERGY dCI 145, ENERGY dCi 170 (front-wheel drive versions) and ENERGY dCi 165 (rear-wheel drive applications).

Other changes see all Euro 6 Renault LCVs gain enhanced security with the standard fitment of an alarm, which is worth £150 and allows the Renault LCV range to meet the higher security rating outlined in the new UK insurance criteria applicable to commercial vehicles that came into force at the start of the year.

The full range of Euro 6 Renault LCVs are available to order now. The Kangoo is priced from £14,150, the Trafic costs from £19,325 and the Master starts from £22,270 (all prices exclude VAT).
