New FleetCheck–VDO integration delivers all fleet compliance data in one place

Fleets can now access all their compliance data “in one place” thanks to a new integration between fleet management software provider FleetCheck and tachograph market leader VDO.

The total distance per collision driven by UK truck, van and taxi operators decreased by almost a fifth in 2023

A single sign-on to FleetCheck’s core commercial vehicle platform provides access to both companies’ systems, including key tachograph and driver card information alongside other records including maintenance, walkaround checks and driving licences.

In daily operations, the FleetCheck software will act as the master channel for all data, removing the need for clients to update both systems separately.

And the partnership will ultimately enable the creation of a combined Earned Recognition dashboard, providing reports on required key performance indicators that can be exported to the DVSA.

The firms announced the strategic partnership just over a year ago and have been working together on this integration ever since.

Ben Klarich, head of commercial and special vehicles at VDO UK, said: “It’s not just a simple data import but means that using a single sign-on, all your compliance information is available in one place – both tachograph data analysed by VDO Fleet and areas such as walkaround checks covered by FleetCheck’s software.

“It’ll deliver, for example, a seamless and simplified approach to Driver Hours compliance, with a reduced administrative burden and enhanced overall fleet performance, as well as making qualification for Earned Recognition much simpler.”

Klarich added that both companies were aligned on delivering products that are “not just a box ticking compliance exercise but help to create a genuine safety culture for fleets”.

Peter Golding, CEO at FleetCheck, said the integration would maximise the benefits of their respective technology.

“We’re very pleased to be working with VDO in this way. They are the tachograph provider of choice for many of our customers and this integration will provide important advantages when it comes to safety and ease of use.”

He went on: “The benefits are obvious and we expect take-up to be high. The partnership represents a significant step forward in compliance that maximises the capabilities of our software and VDO’s tachograph technology.”
