New G3 site puts focus on vans and wheelchair-accessible vehicles

G3 Vehicle Auctions has opened a new centre in Leeds, focused on LCVs, motorbikes and wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs).

WAV expert Anthony Aspinall has joined G3 and will bring his knowledge and auctioneering skills to the new centre

Intended to become the ‘go-to WAV centre of the north’, the new four-acre site is located at Junction 30 of the M62, less than 10 miles from its new auction facility at Junction 32 of the M62, and will hold both physical and online auctions, with the capacity for more than 20,000 vehicles a year.

The centre will open with an inaugural auction on Friday 12 February at 10am, offering more than 150 WAVs from the Motability scheme, alongside a large selection of LCVs.

The sale builds on G3’s existing work with Motability Operations since 2017 to offer their vehicles through weekly Monday sale events and an established national buyer network.

G3 has also recruited WAV expert Anthony Aspinall, a well-respected industry expert who arrives from a national competitor and will bring his knowledge and auctioneering skills to the new centre.

The new centre is being supported by a roster of new and established LCV vendors including Euro Car Parts, United Rental and Sanctuary Group, with more to be announced very soon.

G3 has also been confirmed as a remarketing partner for the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO). Acting on behalf of the local authorities in the North East, NEPO will remarket fleet vehicles, LCVs and plant through the new G3 Leeds auction centre.

The G3 Leeds facility also includes a 200-vehicle undercover hall and the latest 360-degree imaging studio on-site.

G3 said the investment of a new WAV & LCV centre would enable the business to increase its focus on specialist auctions with dedicated sales to suit vehicle types.

Matt Dale, co-owner and director, added: “By working closely with Motability to create a new remarketing solution for their WAV stock and recruiting Anthony with his expert knowledge, we believe we have all the tools to make the G3 Leeds centre the go-to auction for this type of stock.”

“We have seen near 100% conversion rates for our LCV stock throughout 2020, so with plenty of additional stock lined up to add to our established commercial vendors we are building a dedicated location for buyers to source even more of these in-demand commercial vehicles, both online and in our physical auction hall very soon.”
