The newly released Territory Optimiser includes optional planning modules that enable transport managers to run routes and schedules through the system to ensure compact delivery zones for efficient routing. Paragon claims this service will help fleets to reduce transport costs, improve mobile staff productivity and advance customer service levels.
The system calculates territories using accurate travel calculations and allows for time spent at each customer site. This provides a clear picture of each driver’s territory together with his or her assigned jobs before the start of a shift.
When individual drivers need to have a designated group of regular customers, the software allows planners to set up bespoke delivery zones with appropriate and achievable trips. This information is then uploaded to the Paragon routing and scheduling software to calculate optimised routes and schedules, with each customer allocated a number and each route handling a single zone.
Paragon states that balanced zoning is implemented to ensure a fair workload and help to build strong customer relationships as clients get to know the drivers or engineers assigned to their particular territory. The company says the Territory Optimiser software will be deployed by a number of clients, including specialists in home and wholesale deliveries, van sales, hygiene and facilities servicing, and other field services.
