New risk management platform launches to shake up fleet industry

A new road risk management platform designed to keep businesses compliant has launched for the UK fleet sector.

L-R: Safe2Drive founders Allan Gibbons, Sinead Moy and Scott McLennan

Dubbed Safe2Drive, the business has been founded by industry road risk experts, Allan Gibbons, Scott McLennan and Sinead Moy, based on their 25 years’ knowledge and experience in the automotive, insurance and technology markets.

Alongside their heritage, the team have also drawn on collaboration and feedback from clients over many years to create a claimed best-in-class bespoke system that they say bridges the shortfalls identified in the marketplace.

Allan Gibbons, Safe2Drive founder, commented: “Every business which has employees driving as part of their role, needs a sophisticated and auditable risk management platform to ensure they are operating within a strict legal framework – it is their fundamental responsibility. Businesses can be fined if they cannot demonstrate that their drivers have a valid driving licence, have insurance and that the vehicles they are driving are legally compliant.”

This includes drivers using their own cars for company business – the so-called ‘grey fleet’ – which is the fastest-growing risk for the industry and a key focus for Safe2Drive.

Its platform, which includes an app, enables businesses to check that grey fleet drivers have a valid MOT, road tax and insurance with business use, helping companies to determine their legal compliance and safety, along with their environmental impact to assist with business analysis.

Bespoke reporting can be built into the platform to meet each business’s unique needs and enabling the fleet manager to view a comprehensive reporting dashboard to monitor and manage their drivers’ driving licence, insurance and vehicle compliancy.

The new platform can be fully integrated into existing business systems and can incorporate the client’s corporate branding.
