Fleet Service Great Britain has launched a new road safety programme that collates employee compliance and vehicle history data to create a complete driver risk profile.
Dubbed Achieve, the new programme unites all aspects of the vehicle and driver management process – eligibility to drive, crash history, vehicle maintenance record, motoring offences and data collected via telematics and other on-board vehicle technologies – to provide managers with a comprehensive real-time risk record.
The new solution builds on Fleet Service GB’s established driver risk profiler incorporating driver licence checking and driver training and continuously records and measures both individual driver compliance and performance via a points process to compile a real-time driver history taking into account all key data to produce a ‘drive safe, stay safe’ employee mentality.
The technology risk-assesses all applicants using agreed company parameters and compliance requirements, also allowing for bespoke e-learning training programmes, on-the-road driver training and a unique driver well-being profile if required.
The continuous recording of driver performance automatically adds vehicle maintenance data, crash management information, road traffic offences, telematics data and records procedure compliance with points allocated on a per event basis. Employees can access their scores and compliance record via the latest Fleet Service GB driver app.
Head of sales Marcus Bray said: “Providing a dynamic visible profile on an individual driver basis of all aspects of work-related driving will bring about a culture change which permanently affects driving attitude and performance delivering health and safety compliance as well as improved fleet operating efficiency with fewer ‘lost’ man hours, reduced ‘bent metal’ costs, improved fuel economy due to drivers adopting a smoother driving style and increased customer satisfaction.”
The solution launches following successful trials with a number of customers, including vacant property management and maintenance specialists VPS UK. The business has almost 650 cars and commercial vehicles under management with Fleet Service GB and more than 900 drivers registered on the Achieve programme. According to head of fleet Steve Mulvaney, the new system has already contributed to massive business savings in driver influenced costs, maintenance bills and insurance payouts and premiums totalling some £365,000.
