Nissan showcases portable power pack on NV300 Concept-van

Nissan is to launch a new mobile powerpack featuring second-life EV batteries to provide power for mobile professionals.

The NV300 Concept-van is equipped with an integrated all-in-one portable battery solution that goes on sale this spring

Dubbed Nissan Energy Roam, the mobile battery has been showcased on the NV300 Concept-van ahead of the powerpack’s launch in Europe in spring 2019.

The integrated all-in-one portable battery solution uses second-life batteries recovered from Nissan Leaf electric vehicles to offer a power pack with a storage capacity of 700Wh and maximum power output of 1kW.

The power pack can even be recharged using a solar panel accessory – as mounted on the roof of the NV300 Concept-van – further equipping it as a clean, sustainable solution for customers needing electricity on the go.

The NV300 Concept-van – revealed at the Brussels Motor Show – also highlights the versatility of Nissan’s commercial vehicles for bespoke conversions. Aided by the new mobile battery, the new concept sees Nissan’s NV300 midsize van converted into a mobile workshop – in this case aimed at a woodworking professional but adaptable to any mobile professionals.

The van is also equipped with innovations such as an integrated touch-screen computer, swivel seating on floor rails, space-saving bespoke storage and LED lighting in the ceiling.

It’s practical and versatile as well as innovative and self-sufficient with the addition of Nissan Energy Roam. We believe it has enormous potential in the LCV sector and is a key differentiator for Nissan commercial vehicles.”
