Nissan unveils NV250 compact van

Nissan has revealed its new Renault Kangoo-based NV250, which goes on sale from the autumn.

Nissan NV250 L1 Van

On sale in the UK from September 2019, the new compact van replaces the NV200, which will continue to be sold in its e-NV200 electric van guise complete with an upgraded 40kWh battery, offering a range of up to 124 miles (WLTP).

Full powertrain details for the new NV250 are yet to be revealed but Nissan has said the new model will get the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s Euro6D-Temp compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine, with three different options available and said to bring low CO2 and running costs.

Offering a payload of up to 800kg, the NV250 will be offered in two body lengths (L1 / L2) and in two or three-seat configurations for the panel van while the single-length crew version (L2) comes with a maximum of four seats and multi-positional bulkhead. There will also be a wide range of conversions.

The NV250 will also feature on-board Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, including Hill Start Assist and Extended Grip, and will come with a five-year / 100,000 miles warranty as standard. As announced late last year, it will be built in Renault’s manufacturing facility in Maubeugein France, alongside the Kangoo that it’s based on.

Paolo D’Ettore, light commercial vehicles director for Nissan Europe, said: “The new Nissan NV250 is the perfect compact van for small businesses with big aspirations. By enabling customers to choose the version that is just right for them, the NV250 encourages more agile business deliveries and greater leisure freedom.”
