Northgate Vehicle Hire has supported customer the Beech Group with the loan of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter crew van for the challenging Doddie 500 charity cycle ride.
The event saw a team of cyclists from the Beech Group cycled 500 miles from Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff to deliver the match ball for the Six Nations Wales v Scotland match on 12 February.
The event is organised by the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, which supports sufferers of Motor Neurone Disease and was set up by ex-Scottish rugby player Doddie Weir who was diagnosed with suffering from the disease in 2017.
Northgate’s van accompanied the Beech Group team all the way on the charity route, carrying all the equipment necessary to complete the event, while providing back-up and tracking the riders’ progress en route.
Northgate Vehicle Hire sales and marketing director Neil McCrossan said: “We have enjoyed working closely with The Beech Group to support their involvement in this fantastic event and to be able to be part of such as brilliant cause. Well done to all of the riders that took part.”
Beech Group managing director Phil Jordan said: “Northgate’s van has been extremely valuable in supporting our involvement in the charity cycle ride. These charity events couldn’t happen without support from businesses like Northgate in providing equipment and vehicles to help us on our way.”
