Northgate opens new depot as part of 2013 plans for expansion

Formerly a Northgate Vehicle Sales outlet, the depot on Red Doles Lane is being redeveloped to introduce the company’s flexible vehicle hire solutions to the area in a move to meet the demand for a national commercial fleet provider.

The depot launch forms part of Northgate’s 2013 plans to expand and provide efficient and effective fleet solutions that meet the needs of local businesses throughout the UK.

The new depot features a range of services to help the growing fleet size in the area and will house up to 45 vehicles at any one time, offering customers access to the latest fuel-efficient vehicles. Northgate also intends to invest in workshop facilities.

Andrea Cowburn, area operations manager for Northgate Vehicle Hire, commented: ‘Huddersfield has a strong business heritage which remains buoyant to this day, and with that comes the need for a national flexible vehicle hire provider with the resource to fully service the varying demands of local businesses. Through the launch of our Huddersfield depot we intend to meet those needs.

She continued: ‘The area has a strong manufacturing heritage and, as a result, a significant number of businesses in the area fall into this industry sector. Construction, wholesale and retail trade are also prominent industries for Huddersfield – industry sectors that Northgate has a wealth of experience in dealing with, making our competitive packages all the more appealing and relevant for local business owners. We are confident that this, paired with our impressive new facilities, will aid in our continued success this year.’
