Northgate repositions as complete fleet management provider

The company, renowned for offering flexible vehicle hire, is setting itself up as an independent fleet management provider to offer customers a solution that provides complete control over their vehicles and drivers whilst offering significant cost savings across their fleets.

Under the move, Northgate has invested in a large and diverse in-house management and reporting team, with the capability to service both complex and mixed fleets, and now offers experts in all fields of fleet management.

Focusing specifically on engineering, maintenance, compliance, analysis and reporting to service the needs of commercial fleets and businesses, Northgate’s new complete fleet management solutions model – previously operated under the Fleet Technique brand – will see the following services included within its portfolio of services:

  • Proactive service, maintenance and repair
  • Access to Northgate’s own IT platform, Fleet Dynamix, developed in-house with bespoke MI
  • Accident management
  • Administration and legal compliance management
  • Fuel card management
  • Licence checking and driver training
  • Vehicle tracking and telematics solutions
  • Risk management advice and guidance
  • Breakdown and recovery
  • Unbiased vehicle hire solutions
  • Vehicle acquisition and disposal solutions
  • Web-enabled Grey Fleet software
  • Advanced cost analysis and fully analysed reporting

Colin Wilson, Northgate’s head of national sales, commented on the new complete fleet management solutions model: ‘Northgate has dominated the flexible vehicle hire market for years and we felt it was time to open the business out to its full potential and communicate the full scope of what exactly we can offer to the market. Northgate has been quiet in the fleet management industry for years now – a large amount of our customers already benefit from the services that sit outside of our traditional flexible hire offering but, until now, we haven’t positioned what we can do as complete fleet management.’

He continued: ‘From proactive planning and advanced reporting to ensuring driver compliance and increasing bottom-line profits for our customers, we are confident that our new positioning will grow our market share in the UK. Our ultimate aim is to deliver significant cost savings across every fleet we manage by working in partnership with our customers to introduce appropriate management ideas to control revenue and capital costs, and have a positive effect on business growth and profitability.’

Within Northgate’s Complete Fleet Management Solutions, customers can also take advantage of the company’s existing national network of vehicle maintenance workshops, resulting in 24/7/365 national back up for drivers on the road. In addition to this, business owners will continue to benefit from the flexible vehicle hire offering, allowing fleet sizes to be reduced or increased according to demand without incurring any penalties or additional charges.
