Northgate takes top spot at annual Nexus supplier awards

Northgate was honoured as the Best Overall Supplier for its consistent delivery of high performance across each customer service category throughout 2015.

Also celebrated in the ceremony was Thrifty Car and Van Rental, who scooped the award for Best Customer Service and Europcar, which won Most Improved Supplier for the second year in a row. Lincs Van Hire received Best Local Supplier, and the Best New Supplier award was presented to Stan Hire. Arnold Clark won the award for Best Cross Functional Teamwork Supplier.

Eddie Aston, UK Managing Director of Northgate plc, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised by Nexus as the Best Overall Supplier. We work hard to provide excellent customer service and everything we do is driven to that end. Nexus provides us with the ideal partnership to achieve that goal.”

Launched last year, the awards recognise rental suppliers that have consistently delivered high service levels. The awards are objectively measured through a feature of IRIS, Nexus’ award winning rental management system.

The supplier management module is a ground breaking tool which proactively tracks supplier performance and enables customer issues to be resolved. It monitors a range of criteria to assess supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.

Data for each award category has been collated across bookings between October 2014 and September 2015, with suppliers scored on three main categories; contract compliance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Each category is then broken down into a range of performance criteria including customer service, operational processes, environmental contribution, CSR efforts and financial stability.

Yvonne Findlay, head of supply chain at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “The supplier awards are designed to recognise the high performance levels of our suppliers and encourage them to continually strive to deliver service excellence.

“IRIS and the supplier management module provide a vital bridge between Nexus and our suppliers and in utilising this data we are able to adopt a partnering approach, allowing complete visibility on how to monitor trends and resolve issues on a customer’s behalf.

“We are delighted to present these awards and look forward to another year of strong collaboration within our supply chain.”

Nexus has achieved certifications in the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management and ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management standards.
