Northgate unveils new asset tracking solution

Northgate Vehicle Hire has launched an asset tracking and management solution to protect businesses from misuse and theft while also giving greater peace of mind.

The tracking system enables businesses to regularly trace the location history of valuable asset

The tracking system enables businesses to regularly trace the location history of valuable assets – including machinery, trailers, equipment, shipping containers and other high-value equipment – via their desktop or mobile.

It also comes with a ‘geofence’ capability that allows businesses to set virtual boundaries at specific locations. The asset tracker has four scheduled check-in updates per day, and if an asset leaves the geofence zone, the customer will receive an alert during the next scheduled check-in with its exact location. In cases of theft, the tracker’s GPS system enables customers to view the asset’s last known location.

Beyond security, the solution offers comprehensive reporting, helping businesses make informed decisions about the improved management of their resources.

The service is available to Northgate customers along with clients of its Blakedale and FridgeXpress sister businesses.

It’s expected to gain particular traction with Blakedale customers, as the traffic management industry traditionally operates lots of kit such as mobile traffic lights, which are left on site overnight and at weekends.

Spencer Davi, Northgate UK sales & marketing director, said: “We understand how vital asset security is to our customers. This new tracking solution gives businesses the tools they need to safeguard their operations while maximising efficiency.”
