Novadata launches new Driver CPC course for 2025

Leading transport training provider Novadata has launched a new Driver CPC course for 2025.

Titled Driver CPC Driving Standards and Road Safety, this new course examines the root causes of accidents and how personal characteristics (including driver behaviour) can affect driving risks.

By raising awareness of the impact that an individual driver can have on road safety for other road users, it is hoped that better practice and greater safety will be encouraged.

Novadata director Mark Lewin said: “We have developed this course to provoke careful thought and discussion on the ways that both LGV and PCV drivers can increase or minimise road safety risks by their own driving behaviour. The content positively encourages improvements in driver behaviour and attitude, allowing drivers to understand that they, as individuals, can have a positive effect on road safety, helping to protect other road users and reduce accident rates.”

The course looks at the considerations that should be made for vulnerable road users, and examines the potential consequences of an accident for both the driver and the victim of a road traffic accident, as well as the impact on both of their families.

It studies the concerningly high incidence of bridge strikes and how these can be reduced using better planning; and considers the impact of a bridge strike on employers, transport providers and the general public. It also tackles some of the most common causes of road traffic accidents, such as speed, driver behaviour, reckless driving and driving while tired or under the influence.

The course also emphasises the importance of the Highway Code and its purpose in promoting safe use of the roads; as well as its role as a legal entity.

This course is suitable for both LGV and PCV drivers, and counts as seven hours towards both National Driver CPC and International Driver CPC.
