Ogilvie Fleet scores largest-ever sole supply deal

Colas Rail has awarded a solus outsourcing agreement for the supply and management of almost 900 company cars and LCVs to Ogilvie Fleet.

The four-year deal, which follows a competitive tender, marks the largest sole supply contract by fleet size won by Ogilvie and will see the firm supply cars and sub-3.5 tonne vans on a full maintenance contract hire arrangement with the addition of accident management. All vehicles are operated on a 36-month replacement cycle and cover an all-Ford diesel LCV fleet numbering some 800 units and a 90-strong multi-badge company car fleet.

All new vans supplied will be speed limited to help reduce Colas Rail’s carbon footprint, and Ogilvie Fleet is delivering an initial order for 175 Ford Transit Connects and Transit Double Cabs following fitting out by System Edstrom.

Ed Pidduck, group fleet manager, said: “Value for money is always important, but the service Ogilvie Fleet is promising and its IT solutions that Colas Rail will benefit from were key in the decision-making process.

“The whole Ogilvie Fleet package, including supporting Colas Rail’s drivers on a day-to-day basis, will, in partnership with the work of our internal fleet team, take the vehicle operation to a new level. We are looking forward to a long-term partnership that will drive fleet operating efficiencies.”
